Zebaztian Kadestam is coming back to the ONE Circle soon, and he’s got some momentum behind him.

The former ONE welterweight world champion has broken out of a three-fight slump to find his power and timing again, and is riding a two-fight win streak of vicious knockouts.

Ahead of his big fight this May in Colorado, ONE Championship shared the devastating finish that kicked off ONE’s partnership with Amazon Prime- a brutal uppercut to Iuri Lapicus. Take a look:

“Rocked 'em 😵 Former ONE Welterweight World Champion Zebaztian Kadestam takes on Croatian superstar Roberto Soldic in Colorado at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video!”

Now back on a win streak, Kadestam will fight Croatian star Roberto Soldic at ONE Championship’s US debut on May 5th.

Soldic’s highly-anticipated debut with ONE Championship went awry last December when an accidental groin strike in round one sent the fight to a No Contest ruling.

His second attempt at a debut will be no less generous, as he’ll face the heavy hands of Zebaztian Kadestam just outside the mile-high city of Denver.

Zebaztian Kadestam excited to take the hype of Roberto Soldic: “I want it”

It wasn’t long ago that many fans had written off Zebaztian Kadestam for losing three in a row in ONE Championship.

Two years later, he’s nearing world title contention.

He’s fighting one of the promotion’s biggest signings in the last year, Roberto Soldic. Soldic became a massive star fighting for Polish promotion KSW and has beaten many of the best middleweights in the world, including Mamed Khalidov, Dricus du Plessis, and Michal Materla.

In other words, he has a lot of hype behind him.

Zebaztian Kadestam recently spoke to ONE Championship about the matchup and how the hype around Soldic makes him more hungry for victory. Here’s what he had to say about his Croatian opponent:

"It’s a name. Everybody knows him. He has all the hype, and I want it. I would fight anyone in the world, but this is a winning situation for me. I have a lot to take from this."

The Swede Kadestam first rose to prominence fighting up the welterweight rankings of ONE Championship, eventually earning a world title shot against Tyler McGuire.

Not only did Zebaztian Kadestam knock out McGuire in the fifth round, but he went on to defend the belt against Georgiy Kichigin in March of 2019.

The belt would next change hands to Kiamran Abbasov, and Kadestam struggled to rebound. He finally worked out the kinks and returned to the win column in February of 2022 against Valmir da Silva, winning by first-round knockout.

The Kadestam-Soldic fight is one of many highlights on ONE Fight Night 10, which takes place from the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. The star-studded event is headlined by a trilogy flyweight world title fight between Demetrious Johnson and Adriano Moraes.
