“We are ready to become a 2-sport world champion” - Jonathan Haggerty shows love for his mentor and coach Christian Knowles

Jonathan Haggerty paid tribute to his coach, Christian Knowles, ahead of his upcoming opportunity to become a two-sport world champion.

At ONE Fight Night 16, Haggerty looks to add another world title to complement his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title. To do so, ‘The General’ must get through Fabricio Andrade, the ONE bantamweight MMA world champion, for the vacant ONE bantamweight kickboxing world championship.

Ahead of his November 3 main event, Jonathan Haggerty shared a humble message on Instagram thanking Christian Knowles for helping evolve him as a fighter.

The social media post featured two pictures with Knowles and the following caption:

“A good coach can change a game, a great coach can change a life! @knowles.christianstrikingcoach We are ready to become a 2 sport world champion @onechampionship on November 4th 🤴🏼🤑🤑”

Jonathan Haggerty started his ONE Championship tenure at flyweight, where he became the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion. Earlier this year, Haggerty officially decided to limit his weight cut by moving up to bantamweight and challenging then-ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O.

Haggerty wasn’t overlooked heading into the world title fight, but Nong-O was expected to win due to his 10-0 promotional run and GOAT-tier status. ‘The General’ quickly shut down those underestimating him by securing a first-round knockout to become the new ONE bantamweight Muay Thai king.

The 26-year-old now looks to further his legacy by obtaining a third world title under the ONE Championship banner.
