Dustin Poirier, nicknamed “The Diamond,” is an American professional mixed martial artist. He is a part of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and he currently competes in the lightweight division of the promotion. Poirier is currently ranked No. 4 in the UFC men's lightweight rankings.

Born on January 19, 1989, in Lafayette, Louisiana, Dustin Poirier made his UFC debut at UFC 125 on January 1, 2011 as a replacement for John Grispi. He faced then-UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo and won the fight by unanimous decision. He is a former 1-time UFC interim lightweight champion. Besides that, Poirier is also a 9-time winner of Fight of the Night, a 1-time winner of Submission of the Night and a 4-time winner of Performance of the Night.

Poirier has won 30 fights (15 by knockout, 8 by submission, and 7 by decision) and lost 8 fights (3 by knockout, 3 by submission, and 2 by decision). One of his fights ended in a no-contest. He faced Justin Gaethe for the BMF belt at UFC 291 on July 29, 2023. Gaethje knocked him out in the second round with a devastating head kick to win the fight. Poirier squared off against Benoit Saint Denis at UFC 299 on March 9, 2024 and won via KO in the 2nd round.
