Grant Dawson is an American mixed martial arts competitor who competes in the lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Born in Cambria, Wisconsin, on February 20, 1994, Dawson was brought up in Stromsburg, Nebraska. He wanted to pursue a career in American football and trained in wrestling for an advantage in the game. However, he completely changed his career path, and during his time at Cross County Community School, he competed in high school wrestling and finished his senior season with a record of 40-8. He pursued a career in mixed martial arts right after graduating high school.

Initially, while competing on the amateur circuit, Grant Dawson amassed a record of 8 wins and one loss. He ventured into professional mixed martial arts in 2014 and scored 11 victories and one loss in his professional career before competing in Dana White’s Contender Series 6 (DWCS). He earned a UFC contract after defeating Adrian Diaz on August 17, 2017, via submission in the second round. He debuted in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) against Julian Erosa on March 9, 2019, at UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. dos Santos in Wichita, Kansas, United States. He won his inaugural bout in the promotion by unanimous decision and now has a professional record of 20 wins, one loss, and a majority draw against Ricky Glenn. He is scheduled to face Rafa Garcia on October 12, 2024, at UFC Fight Night: Royval vs. Taira.
