Brad Tavares has made a name for himself in the combat sports universe owing to which he is currently signed with the elite professional mixed martial arts promotion, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). A middleweight professional mixed martial artist, Tavares became a professional competitor in the sport in 2007. After his debut, Tavares spent the initial phase of his career fighting in different fight promotions.

Brad Tavares appeared at The Ultimate Fighter: Team Liddell vs. Team Ortiz on June 19, 2010, and faced Seth Baczynski. He registered a unanimous decision win over Baczynski and set the wheel in motion for his career in the coveted UFC. Tavares had two successful outings in the promotion including his fight against Baczynski and suffered his first professional loss at UFC UFC 132 against Aaron Simpson who defeated him by a unanimous decision.

Despite facing top stars of the promotion like Yoel Romero, Robert Whittaker, Israel Adesanya, and Dricus du Plessis, Brad Tavares couldn’t capitalize on the opportunities and was defeated by each one of them. As of July 2024, he holds a professional mixed martial arts record of 20 wins and 10 losses, Tavares is slated to lock horns with Jun Yong Park in his next fight on July 20, 2024, at UFC on ESPN: Lemos vs. Jandiroba.
