Patrick Pimblett, better known as Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett has been a rising star in the UFC. The English lightweight division MMA fighter in the promotion has already produced some of the best fights in his young UFC career. Belonging to England and being a former Cage Warriors Featherweight Champion, Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett’s debut at the UFC helped him make an impact in the promotion.
Since then, he has continued to improve and grow as an MMA fighter inside the Octagon. This includes being a three-time winner of the Performance of the Night bonus against opponents like Luigi Vendramini, Kazula Vargas, and Jordan Leavitt. He has also established a milestone with his undefeated streak in the UFC. The Baddy, as of April 8, 2025, has an MMA record of 22-3-0 in total. He won 22 fights (6 by KO/TKO, 10 by submission, and 6 by decision) and lost 3 fights (1 by submission and 2 by decision).
Paddy Pimblett’s ankle surgery
Paddy Pimblett has suffered an ankle injury during his fight against Jared Gordon at UFC 282: Blachowicz vs Ankalaev on December 10, 2022. He was notable for defeating Gordon via unanimous decision in 5 minutes of Round 3. However, according to The Baddy, he had suffered the injury in Round 1 and continued the fight. At the end of the fight, he had a sore foot. Nevertheless, he did not realize the extent of the injury until he returned home and found that his foot had swelled.
Eventually, Pimblett decided to have surgery in March 2023, when it was found that this ankle injury was more serious and worse than he had expected it to be. He stated that he had to undergo both inner and outer ligament surgery and reconstruction, so the process was big. He was still not sure when he would be able to return to the Octagon. At that time, The Baddy stated that he had been using crutches for a long time and that he would be lucky if he got to fight in 2023.
