Anthony Joshua is a professional British boxer who was born on October 15, 1989, in Watford, England. Joshua is of Nigerian and Irish origin and he started his boxing career at the age of 18. He quickly moved up the amateur ranks, winning the silver medal at the World Championships in 2011 and the gold medal at the London Olympics in 2012 in the super-heavyweight class. Joshua turned professional in 2013 and quickly began making a name for himself on the back of his formidable punching power. He eventually picked up his first world title in April 2016, stopping Charles Martin and claiming the IBF heavyweight strap.

In April 2017, Joshua cemented his status as one of the world's foremost heavyweights, overcoming Wladimir Klitschko in an instant classic at Wembley Stadium, thus adding the WBA and IBO titles to his arsenal. Later, he even unified the heavyweight division twice, regaining the WBA, IBF, and WBO belts against Andy Ruiz in their 2019 rematch after he had earlier suffered a shocking loss to him in the same calendar year. As of September 2024, Joshua's professional record currently stands at 28 wins, with 25 coming via knockout and three losses (28-3-0).
