Stephen Thompson is a prominent name in the world of professional mixed martial arts who currently competes in the leading professional mixed martial arts promotion, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Besides having a successful mixed martial arts career, Thompson also excelled as a kickboxer.

Stephen Thompson ventured into professional mixed martial arts in 2010. He faced his inaugural opponent, Jeremy Joles in the sport as a professional on February 5, 2010, at Fight Party: Greenville Kage Fighting. Thompson won the fight by a second-round TKO and kicked off his career with a win. He made his promotional debut in the octagon on February 4, 2012, at UFC 143 against Dan Stittgen. Thompson won by a first-round knockout and announced his arrival in the promotion with style. Stephen Thompson is ranked as the No. 9 ranked fighter in the UFC’s welterweight division. He is scheduled to take on Joaquin Buckley in his upcoming fight at UFC 307 on October 5, 2024.
