Viana, raised by her mother in São Geraldo do Araguaia, a small town in the Pará region of Brazil, began practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu in 2013. In late 2013, she entered the professional mixed martial arts scene.

She made her first walk to the UFC octagon against Maia Stevenson at UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Anders on February 3, 2018.
