Michael Zefara's 37th professional fight lasted just three minutes but created the most captivating headlines in the boxing world. On Aug. 28, Zerafa improved to 32-5 as a professional but the most interesting aspect of his fight came after the bout had concluded.

Looking to bounce back from his WBA middleweight title loss to Erislandy Lara in March, Zerafa took on veteran Tommy Browne in Sydney, Australia. As usual, his brother, Jason-Manuel Zerafa, was in his corner but will no longer be able to do so moving forward.

After the first round, Michael Zerafa and Tommy Browne headed to their respective corners. However, only Zerafa would rise from the stool with Browne retiring in the corner due to a bicep injury.

Upset, Zerafa taunted his opponent, accusing him of quitting and causing Browne's head trainer, Tommy Mercuri to snap back at him in the ring. With Mercuri getting in the 32-year-old's face, Jason-Manuel Zerafa also entered the altercation and threw a punch. The blow glanced off the head of Mercuri but was enough contact to escalate the situation.

After the fight, No Limit Boxing issued a lifetime ban on Jason-Manuel, preventing him from ever cornering his brother in another one of their events again. He was escorted out of the arena once the officials had gotten the incident under control.

Is Jason-Manuel Zerafa a boxer?

He may have thrown a punch in the ring on Aug. 28 but unlike his brother, Jason-Manuel Zerafa is not a professional boxer. The Australian has cornered his brother for most of his fights but has never professionally stepped into the ring himself.

Per his social media accounts, Zerafa appears to be a security guard. He is seen spending a lot of time with his brother and family but does not appear to actively train in the sport in any capacity.
