Hailing from Aurora, Colorado, U.S., Cory Sandhagen is a mixed martial artist who fights in the highly competitive bantamweight division of the UFC. He made his professional debut in the octagon in 2015 and has competed in multiple respected promotions like Legacy Fighting Alliance and UFC. Cory Sandhagen began his combat sports journey as a kickboxer, achieving significant success and even winning the prestigious WKA world title. However, in the early 2010s, he decided to transition to MMA. He started his MMA journey as an amateur in 2012, making his debut at FTW: The Warriors against Daymar Ortiz. He had a mixed record in his amateur bouts, winning against Seth Rodenbaugh at ROF: Buckley MMA Fight Night but suffering a split decision loss to Brandon Heredia at FTW: Hooligans.

Cory's amateur career gained momentum when he secured a victory against Jorge Dominguez at FTW 8. After this win, he turned professional in 2015. His professional debut took place at FTW 9, where he faced Bruce Sessman and secured a first-round victory via rear-naked choke. Subsequently, he moved up to Featherweight and triumphed over Andrew Tenneson at RFA 34 by unanimous decision. Cory continued his winning streak by defeating Dalton Goddard at Paramount MMA 2016. He then earned his first title shot, where he fought and won against Josh Huber at Sparta Combat League 50, claiming the SCL Featherweight Championship with a unanimous decision victory. After further success, including a win at RFA 43, Cory Sandhagen joined Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) and achieved a 2-1 record before making a move to the UFC in 2018.
