Two years ago, Belal Muhammad lambasted a then unbeaten Sean Brady for the latter's desire to fight an over-the-hill Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson over the surging Khamzat Chimaev. All four men compete in the UFC welterweight division, and 'Remember the Name' was also one of the names Brady had mentioned.
Fortunately, Thompson, who was on a two-fight losing streak, was passed over in favor of Muhammad, who would go on to face Brady at UFC 280. However, 'Remember the Name' took exception to Brady eyeing an aging veteran in Thompson instead of challenging the younger, more dangerous Chimaev.
In a conversation with MMA Junkie, the future UFC welterweight champion scoffed at Brady's personal matchmaking. In fact, he claimed the only reason he agreed to fight him was due to the element of trash talk.
"Honestly the only lure is that this guy tried to trash talk, and I was sitting there like, 'Who the heck is this little dork that's never said a word and now he wants to start talking trash like he's some big, tough guy?'"

Muhammad also criticized Brady for not calling out Chimaev, who was and remains undefeated, though has since moved up to middleweight.
"He's so afraid to call out Khamzat [Chimaev] the whole time, and I was like, 'If he calls out Khamzat, alright, I'll accept this fight, because it tells me he's not a coward.' But he's obviously calling me out with guys like Stephen Thompson, who I feel like is a bad matchup for him, or smaller guys like Nate Diaz and [Jorge] Masvidal―those fights he wasn't gonna get at all. So, obviously, he thinks he can beat me, and he puts me in that same category."

Muhammad did not take kindly to being lumped up with the likes of 'Wonderboy,' who, while skilled, has failed to realize his UFC championship dreams despite two attempts.
