Irish superstar Conor McGregor and UFC commentator Joe Rogan are two very prominent figures in the world of mixed martial arts. Both individuals are praised by many in the MMA community for their contributions to the sport.

One interesting thing to note is that the two had an interaction before the Irishman ever stepped foot in the UFC octagon.

It all started when McGregor fought Ivan Buchinger at Cage Warriors 51 in December 2012. 'The Notorious' made quick work of his opponent and knocked him out in the first round.

A few days after the fight, Rogan uploaded a post on X where he congratulated McGregor and hoped for him to compete in the UFC soon.

"I just caught your fight, Conor. Congratulations, you looked sensational! Hope to see you in the UFC someday. Best of luck!"

McGregor responded by thanking the UFC commentator for his words and hailed him as a 'legend'.

"Thank you very much Joe, that means a lot, you are a f**king legend my friend!!"

Joe Rogan supports Conor McGregor's decision to withdraw from UFC 303

After being out of action for over three years, Conor McGregor was set to return at UFC 303. He was scheduled to fight Michael Chandler on June 29 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. But the Irishman suffered a broken toe and had to pull out of the fight.

In an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Joe Rogan discussed about the topic and spoke in favor of 'Mystic Mac'. The UFC commentator called McGregor's decision 'wise' and spoke about the possibility of sustaining further damage if the UFC superstar went into the fight with an injury.

"Here's the thing about a broken pinkie toe. When you're a guy who kicks as much as Conor, it's a f**king problem. It's also the same foot where his leg was snapped, and he went into that fight injured. He's never pulled out of a fight before. This is the first [fight] he's pulled out of, and I think it's wise. If you do have a broken toe and you're going into a fight... what if that f**king toe becomes a real issue. What if he throws a kick and it smashes again and he's in agony."
