Before Dana White joined Meta’s board of directors, he was reportedly in talks with Mark Zuckerberg about a potential fight against Elon Musk that took the internet by storm. White, having spoken to both billionaires, confirmed they were both "dead serious" about the challenge.
The feud began after Musk's tweet about Zuckerberg’s tech dominance, which led to the Tesla CEO offering to settle things in a cage match. Zuckerberg, a skilled jiu-jitsu practitioner, quickly responded with the iconic "send me location" message, and Musk agreed.
As the conversation continued, White became fully invested in organizing the event, seeing the potential for it to become the biggest pay-per-view spectacle ever. White believed that it could generate massive attention, even beyond traditional fight fans, and raise hundreds of millions for charity. Speaking about the potential fight in an interview with TMZ, White said:
“They both said, ‘Yeah, we’ll do it.’ Mark Zuckerberg hit me up first and said, ‘Is [Elon] serious?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know, let me ask him.’ I asked him, and he said, ‘Yeah, I’m dead serious.'”

White added:
“Listen, if these guys are serious, I make fights that people want to see. That’s what I do for a living. If they really want to do it and they’re serious, and we can figure out a way to pull this off, I would absolutely, positively do this. This would be the biggest fight ever in the history of the world, bigger than anything that’s ever been done. It would break all pay-per-view records."
