Joe Rogan and Dustin Poirier once discussed Conor McGregor's lavish lifestyle, particularly his famed Lamborghini yacht. Rogan notably suggested that simply having the funds to purchase such a high-end yacht isn't enough and that you'd also have to be financially capable of maintaining it.

Rogan is a longtime UFC color commentator and is beheld as one of the most successful podcasters, raking in millions of dollars for his Joe Rogan Experience podcast. McGregor is a combat sports megastar and is well-known for his entrepreneurial prowess. The Irishman is a former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion. Poirier is a former interim UFC lightweight champion.

The American has fought McGregor thrice thus far. Poirier lost to him via first-round TKO at featherweight at UFC 178 in Sept. 2014.

Poirier avenged that defeat at lightweight with a second-round TKO over McGregor at UFC 257 in Jan. 2021. Their trilogy fight, a lightweight bout, ended in a first-round TKO win for Poirier, as McGregor suffered a mid-fight leg injury at UFC 264 in July 2021.

Presently, Poirier is eyeing a couple of fights before potential retirement, whereas McGregor is aiming for a comeback in 2025.

In episode 102 of the JRE MMA Show in February 2021, Rogan hosted Poirier in the aftermath of their rematch, wherein McGregor had been uncharacteristically respectful in the fight build-up, as opposed to his relentless trash-talking approach in the lead-up to their first fight and trilogy.

During their conversation, Rogan recalled McGregor's iconic entry on his $3.6 million Lamborghini yacht to 'Fight Island' in Abu Dhabi ahead of his rematch against Poirier in Jan. 2021. The MMA personality asked:

"What do you think of Conor pulling up to the Fight Island on a yacht?"

Poirier responded by stating:

"That's baller, man. I was mad. Like, damn, I want a f**king yacht."

Rogan then explained why maintaining a yacht is an economically daunting task:

"You do, but you don't. You have to have so much more money than the yacht costs to enjoy the yacht. Let's say you got a 20 million-dollar yacht. For you to not be sweating that yacht, you better have a 100 million. You go like, 'How much does it cost to gas up? How much does the pilot cost? How much does the captain? What am I doing for repairs?'"

When Joe Rogan waxed lyrical about Conor McGregor's baller lifestyle

Speaking to outdoorsman and athlete, Cameron Hanes, on the JRE podcast in 2023, Joe Rogan heaped praise on UFC legend Conor McGregor's lifestyle. Akin to how Dustin Poirier implied McGregor's yacht was a "baller" move, Rogan used the same term to praise 'The Notorious,' emphasizing that he'd earned the life of opulence:

"Why do you become successful in the first place? So you can live like a f**king baller, and that's what Conor is doing."

Earlier this year, McGregor took to X to respond to a clip of Rogan's aforementioned remarks that was garnering considerable attention among netizens. Expressed his love and respect for the UFC commentator, the Irishman tweeted:
