Jon Jones has never been shy about patting himself on the back. After all, he's achieved more than most fighters could ever hope to. Enter Dan Hooker, who scoffed at the MMA great's self-praise back in 2021. Instead, the New Zealander took aim at Jones, referencing his domestic abuse allegations.

In late 2021, following the induction of his legendary first fight with Alexander Gustafsson into the UFC Hall of Fame, the future heavyweight champion was arrested following an alleged domestic violence incident with his fiancée, Jessie Moses, who sported a bruised lip, and blood on her face and clothes.

This incident was mentioned by Hooker in a brutal response to Jones' criticism of the former's professional woes.

"Life hack: if you don't beat up your wife, family events will be more enjoyable. Merry Xmas b*tch."

Despite Jones' arrest and his unstable behavior around the police officers who detained him, he served no jail-time. The domestic battery charges were dropped, and he pleaded no-contest to tampering with a police vehicle, which he was seen on video headbutting during his arrest.

He was ordered to pay $750 in restitution, attend anger management classes, and avoid any legal trouble for a certain amount of time. However, he still faced consequences for his actions, with the MMA community subjecting him to extreme criticism, with Jones receiving a ban from Jackson Wink MMA.

Since then, he has avoided any serious legal issues, until, in early 2024, he became the subject of an assault allegation by a drug-testing agent working with Drug Free Sport, which the UFC contracted following its split with USADA. Again, Jones faced no serious legal consequences, attending anger management classes.

Jon Jones had previously feuded with Dan Hooker's teammate Israel Adesanya

While Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya are now on good terms, there was a time when both men seemed to be on a collision course in 2020. At the time, Adesanya was the UFC middleweight champion, while Jones was the light heavyweight kingpin. After a slew of comparisons, a feud between the two emerged.

"If Izzy really wanted to fight me, he would do it. Izzy's a p***y."

Much like his friend and teammate Dan Hooker, 'The Last Stylebender' took aim at Jones' history of legal issues. Unfortunately for fans, the two men never faced each other in the cage, and resolved their bitter feud before such a bout could ever materialize.
