Jim Miller has had a lengthy UFC career and continues to remain competitive in his fights even when he has come up short in recent years.
Despite riding a three-fight winning streak, Miller does have an ideal timetable of when he'd like to retire from MMA. During his pre-fight media availability, he told reporters that he's hopeful and confident that UFC 300 will be a fitting end to his career.
He said:
"I'm pretty certain at this point that my body can make it [to UFC 300], you know, barring something catastrophic. I've said if I make it there, I want it to be my last UFC fight, and I'm pretty food with that. But I don't want it to be one more fight in between. I would like UFC 300 to be my 45th UFC fight."

'A-10' will be closing in on that 45 UFC bout mark this Saturday at UFC Vegas 69, when he takes on Alexander Hernandez. He intends on being active this year and even mapped out what he envisions his schedule to look like between now and next July, saying:
"I fight Satuday, fight in like July, then maybe November, March [2024], and then July again [UFC 300] - which is a good pace, the pace that I like to fight at. That would get me three fights this year, and then two next year. I would be 100 per cent content with that."
Miller currently holds the record for both most UFC bouts and most UFC wins. If he eventually fights at UFC 300, he will have competed in three milestone events, including UFC 100 and UFC 200.
Jim Miller made his UFC debut in 2008
Jim Miller has had an impressive UFC tenure since making his promotional debut at UFC 89 in 2008.
Prior to signing with the promotion, 'A-10' made a name for himself competing on the regional MMA circuit in New Jersey, which saw him fight future UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar in his sixth pro bout. He was able to overcome early adversity in his career as he bounced back from the loss to Edgar and won his next six bouts before joining the UFC.
'A-10' submitted David Baron via rear-naked choke at 3:19 of the third round and earned a post-fight bonus for Submission of the Night.
