Jack Della Maddalena is an Australian mixed martial artist who competes in the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He started as a rugby player at the tender age of eight during his days at the school. Maddalena joined a boxing gym at the age of fourteen to improve his physical fitness for rugby and, in the process, fell in love with the combat sports business.

Maddalena made his professional debut on March 12, 2016, opposite Aldin Bates and lost the bout via TKO in the 3rd round. He lost his next fight against Darcy Vendy via first-round submission. Maddalena recovered from his initial losses and went on to amass a nine-fight winning streak, winning the Eternal Welterweight Championship and defending it four times. He got a call-up from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) to feature in a fight against Ange Loose at Dana White’s Contender Series 39 (DWCS). Maddalena won the bout by unanimous decision and earned a UFC contract.

He finally made his UFC debut against Peter Rodriguez and won via first-round TKO at UFC 270 on January 22, 2022, in Anaheim, California, United States. He has a professional record of 16 wins and 2 losses and is currently ranked 11th on the UFC welterweight rankings.

Jack Della Maddalena is scheduled to meet Gilbert Burns in a welterweight showdown in the octagon at UFC 299 on March 7, 2024.

Maddalena trained at Scrappy MMA and Fitness in Perth, Western Australia, and thus proceeded towards his professional MMA journey. Maddalena still trains at the same facility.

Jack Della Maddalena made his professional MMA debut against Aldin Bates on March 12, 2016, at Eternal MMA 15, aged 19. He made his debut in UFC against Peter Rodriguez at UFC 270. Maddalena started his combat sports journey at a very young age. In his schooling days, he played rugby, and his elder brother Josh Maddalena encouraged him to join a boxing gym at the age of fourteen. Maddalena developed an interest in combat sports, and after a stint in rugby, he switched to full-time MMA training.
