The former UFC BMF champion, Jorge Masvidal is truly a veteran of the sport. Retiring from mixed martial arts in early 2023, Masvidal is looking forward to making his second outing as a professional boxer. Earlier, he stepped inside the ring in June 2005, against Joseph Benjamin and won the bout via a majority decision after the four-rounder. And after nearly two decades, Masvidal is gearing up for his next fight inside the ring, and this time against his former UFC opponent Nate Diaz. The fight will take place on July 6, 2024, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, United States.

However, Masvidal rose to fame during his decade-long stint in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He made his promotional debut in 2013 as a lightweight against Tim Means at UFC Fight Night: Henderson vs. Melendez in San Jose, California, United States. Masvidal had a unanimous decision win over Means after the three-rounder. Since then, he has gone up against some of the most prominent contenders to ever compete in the promotion like Michael Chiesa, Al Laquinta, Darren Till, Nate Diaz, Kamaru Usman, Gilbert Burns, etc.

However, his last few years in the promotion saw him suffer consequent losses inside the cage. Jorge Masvidal faced the Brazilian welterweight Gilbert Burns for his last fight on April 8, 2023, at UFC 287 in Miami, Florida, United States. Masvidal lost to Burns via a unanimous decision after the three-rounder. He made his retirement speech during the octagon interview and hence left the promotion on a four-fight loss streak. Nevertheless, Masvidal still holds a huge fan base as his flying knee knockout is celebrated as the fastest knockout in the history of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
