Khamzat Chimaev

In the world of mixed martial arts, Khamzat Chimaev has swiftly become one of the most sought-after names. The UFC middleweight has revolutionized the sport of mixed martial arts and is one of the best fighters ever to enter the UFC Octagon. He currently holds an outstanding undefeated record of 12 wins with no losses (12-0-0), with 6 of these wins coming inside the UFC octagon.

Khamzat Chimaev is destined for greatness, even though it may be too soon to call him one of the best from what we have seen of him in the UFC cage. Chimaev has won all six encounters inside the UFC octagon, and he has been compared to Khabib Nurmagomedov because of his dominance there. Chimaev, like Nurmagomedov, largely relies on his wrestling background. It is safe to say that Chimaev prefers to wrestle even though he has displayed remarkable hand-striking skills inside the UFC octagon, knocking out Gerald Meerschaert in just 17 seconds during his third UFC outing and going to war for 3 rounds against Gilbert Burns.

Where was Khamzat Chimaev born?

On May 1, 1994, Khamzat Chimaev was born in Chechnya, Russia. He even participated in a junior wrestling competition in Russia and took home a bronze medal. But when he was 18, he and his mother relocated to Sweden. Chimaev's brother, Arthur Chimaev, who was already a resident of Sweden, suggested that Chimaev and his family relocate there rather than from Chechnya.

Later, Khamzat Chimaev would take part in some wrestling competitions in Sweden. Despite being a wrestling superstar, Chimaev could not compete for Sweden at the Olympics.

Why did Khamzat Chimaev move to the UAE?

It remains undisclosed whether Chimaev has relinquished his Swedish. Chimaev's manager, Majdi Shammas, has confirmed that he has moved to the United Arab Emirates, just before his upcoming fight at UFC 294 against Kamaru Usman.

Khamzat Chimaev now represents the UAE as a professional mixed martial artist. The motivations behind Chimaev's relocation are not entirely clear, but some suggest it may be related to his disapproval of recent Quran burnings in Sweden.
