One of the most dominant champions in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Jose Aldo came back from his retirement in the previous outing. Ranked as the No.10 contender in the bantamweight division of the promotion, Aldo is now gearing up for his next fight at UFC 307, against Mario Bautista in the main card of the evening.

Jose Aldo’s accomplishment as a fighter is outstanding. From becoming the inaugural featherweight champion of the UFC in 2011 to dominating the division on a streak till 2015, Aldo was undoubtedly one of the best to ever do it in the weight class. Jose Aldo has had eight losses in his professional MMA career. Over the years, Aldo has lost to Luciano Azevedo, Conor McGregor, Max Holloway, Alexander Volkanovski, Marlon Morales, Petr Yan, and Merab Dvalishvili, respectively.

Jose Aldo vs. Luciano Azevedo

Jose Aldo had his first professional MMA loss against Luciano Azevedo in 2005, at Jungle Fight 5 in Manaus, Brazil. Aldo was on an undefeated 7 fight win streak before facing Azevedo and lost to him via a rear naked choke submission in the second round.

Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor

Since his loss against Luciano Azevedo, Jose Aldo had not lost in any fights and was on an 18-fight win streak. However, Conor McGregor knocked out Aldo within 13 seconds into the first round of UFC 194. The Brazilian also lost his UFC featherweight title to McGregor in the aftermath of the result.

Jose Aldo vs. Max Holloway 1&2

Jose Aldo faced Max Holloway for the first time on June 3, 2017, at UFC 212 and lost the bout via TKO in the third round. Aldo was the champion of the division after stripping off the title from Conor McGregor. Hence, it was Holloway’s title unification bout and became the undisputed champion.

For their second outing, Max Holloway and Jose Aldo met at UFC 218 for an instant rematch on December 2, 2017. Holloway again TKO’d Aldo in the third round and successfully defended the featherweight title.

Jose Aldo vs. Alexander Volkanovski

Jose Aldo vs. Alexander Volkanovski took place at UFC 237 in May 2019 and the Australian fighter had a unanimous decision win after the three-rounder.

Jose Aldo vs. Marlon Morales

Jose Aldo faced Marlon Morales on December 14, 2019, and lost the bout via a split decision. It was Aldo’s debut as a bantamweight in the promotion.

Jose Aldo vs. Petr Yan

Aldo faced former UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan at UFC 251 and got TKO’d in the fifth round.

Jose Aldo vs. Merab Dvalishvili

Jose Aldo faced Meran Dvalishvili on August 20, 2022, at UFC 278 in Salt Lake City, United States. Dvalishvili defeated Aldo via a unanimous decision by the judges’ scorecard after the three-rounder.
