Alexa Grasso is a Mexican professional mixed martial artist who competes in the flyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. She is also the current UFC women’s flyweight champion and is ranked No. 1 in women’s pound-for-pound rankings.

Grasso made her professional fighting debut on September 6, 2014, against Ashley Cummins at Invicta FC 8 and won her inaugural fight via unanimous decision. In 2016, her deal with the UFC was announced, and she made her debut for the promotion on November 5, 2016, at The Ultimate Fighter Latin America 3 Finale: dos Anjos vs. Ferguson in Mexico City, winning the fight via unanimous decision.

She created history with her win by becoming the first Mexican-born woman to win a championship in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Alexa Grasso was booked to face the then-UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Grasso entered the bout as a massive underdog against Shevchenko; however, the bout ended in a huge upset when Grasso submitted Shevchenko in the fourth round of the fight and won the flyweight title. She is scheduled to defend her title against Valentina Shevchenko in a rematch at the main event of UFC Fight Night: Grasso vs. Shevchenko 2 on September 16, 2023.
