Valentina Shevchenko, also known as "Bullet", was born on March 7th, 1988, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Her combat sports background was diverse, excelling in Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and eventually in MMA. Shevchenko got her nickname "Bullet" at age 12 because of her speed in the ring and she has compiled a bunch of accolades including multiple world championships in Muay Thai. She has earned eight gold medals in the IFMA World Championships defeating many elite fighters such as Joanna Jędrzejczyk several times​.

Shevchenko made her first walk to the UFC octagon in 2015 and in a very short time became one of the most formidable fighters in the roster. She won the UFC Flyweight title in 2018 by beating defender Joanna Jędrzejczyk and later defended this title with wins over prominent opponents such as Jéssica Andrade and Lauren Murphy​​. Despite two narrow decision losses to Amanda Nunes at Bantamweight and the title loss to Alexa Grasso at UFC 285, she remains the #1 contender in the flyweight division. The Russian native is known for her striking precision, technical grappling, and strategic fight IQ, and as of September 2024, she holds a professional MMA record of 23-4​-1.

Pavel Fedotov has been the long-time coach and trainer of Valentina Shevchenko. Since she was young, she has been training under his tutelage and their bond has lasted for more than twenty years. At an early stage when she began training, Fedotov wasn't paying much attention to the then-young Shevchenko. However, she was tough and determined enough to latch his attention and set a foundation for how close they were.

Fedotov's coaching philosophy is all about loyalty and variety in training. He believes in exposing fighters to different gyms and sparring partners as a way to further sharpen their skills continuously. Together with her sister Antonina, she constitutes a close-knit team that virtually runs as a family.

Valentina Shevchenko trains at Tiger Muay Thai, located in Phuket, Thailand. This gym is renowned for its focus on striking disciplines, specializing in striking disciplines such as Muay Thai while providing grounds for several high-profile fighters. Shevchenko trains her striking and general MMA skills with top-notch coaches and training partners at Tiger Muay Thai. Additionally, she regularly trains in different parts of the world to have a varied set of skills. Shevchenko once trained in Japan to study traditional Japanese martial arts techniques like sumo wrestling.
