Why is Amanda Nunes not ranked in the Featherweight Rankings?

The inaugural UFC women’s featherweight championship took place between Germaine de Randamie vs. Holly Holm at UFC 208 on February 11, 2017. However, ‘The Iron Lady’ was stripped of the title as she refused to defend her title against Chris Cyborg.

At UFC 214, Chris Cyborg won the vacant women’s featherweight title via TKO against Tonya Evinger. Cyborg successfully defended her title twice against Holly Holm at UFC 219 and Yana Kunitskaya at UFC 222, respectively. Nevertheless, Cyborg could only reign her UFC title for 517 days.

Amanda Nunes knocked out Chris Cyborg at UFC 232 on December 29, 2018, and won the UFC women’s featherweight championship. She also defended the title twice against Felicia Spencer and Megan Anderson at UFC 250 and UFC 259, respectively.

Why is Amanda Nunes not ranked in the featherweight rankings?

Amanda Nunes has been the reigning champion of the UFC’s women’s featherweight division since 2018. She is the first and only two weight-class woman champion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

After her loss to Amanda Nunes, Megan Anderson claimed that the UFC should shut down the featherweight division. And later, the promotion dumped the women’s featherweight division from the homepage except for the champion herself.

During an interview with Fansided MMA, Nunes claimed that UFC would not shut down the women’s featherweight division.

Amanda Nunes (@Amanda_Leoa) has confirmed to me that the UFC has NOT shut down its women's featherweight division. "They did not cut the division. Dana and I have a great relationship, as long as I want to defend it he will find me opponents."
