What's the story?
Cain Velasquez spoke to MMA Fighting as part of the promotional activities for his comeback fight against Francis Ngannou. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion was asked about the possibility of him joining WWE after he winds up his MMA career.
In case you didn't know...
Often regarded as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. Velasquez last fought in July 2016 in TKO win against Travis Browne. The longest reigning Heavyweight Champion in UFC history has struggled with injuries over the past few years and has seen countless bouts being nixed on various occasions.

Velasquez was supposed to face Fabricio Werdum -- the only opponent apart from Junior Dos Santos that has beaten him, however, the fight never saw the light of the day
After nearly three years of being sidelined, Cardio Cain will step inside the Octagon again this Saturday against knockout artists Ngannou.
The heart of the matter
During the interview with MMA Fighting, Velasquez admitted to being an ardent pro wrestling fan and that he would love to make the jump from the Octagon to the squared circle some day.
The 36-year-old was spotted training along with the WWE officials and staff members at the WWE Performance Centre recently, which fuelled rumors of a transition possibly being in the works.
Velasquez, though, isn't interested in being a part-time attraction and intends on giving pro wrestling his 100 % if he does decide to join forces with Vince McMahon and co.
“I’m not looking to just do it half-a**ed and do some appearances. If I do it, I’m gonna do it 100 percent," said the 2-time UFC Champion.
What's next?
Velasquez is an athletic specimen and certainly fits the mold of the potential top WWE Superstar. He even has a history with WWE's biggest draw Brock Lesnar, whom he beat in 2010 via TKO to win his first UFC Heavyweight title.
Most importantly, Velasquez loves pro wrestling and would actually enjoy a stint with the WWE whenever it comes to fruition.
However, Cain would be more focused on his return bout against the explosive Ngannou which is scheduled to take place on UFC on ESPN 1 on February 17th, 2019.
