"You're one of those guys" - When Joe Rogan roasted Dustin Poirier for using an Android phone instead of an iPhone during JRE podcast

Joe Rogan once humorously took aim at Dustin Poirier for choosing an Android over an iPhone. The seasoned UFC commentator may not come across as particularly tech-savvy, but he certainly has a clear preference when it comes to selecting the mobile operating system he uses.

During a February 2021 episode of his JRE MMA Show, with Poirier as the guest, Rogan couldn't help but poke fun at the former UFC interim lightweight champion. The moment came when Poirier struggled to share pictures of his surgery from his Android-based Samsung phone. Rogan asked:

"What’s happening with your phone? Do you need help? Maybe you should get an iPhone, would be super f**king easy."

However, 'The Diamond' remained unbothered and continued to attempt to share the picture. When the renowned podcaster jokingly asked if he would ever "get an iPhone," Poirier stood firm and replied with a resolute "no," prompting Rogan to respond:

"Oh, you're committed to the Android phone cause people f**k with you, right? ... You're one of those guys."

Rogan further questioned the behavior of Android users and noted that those who favor Google’s operating system often appear highly defensive about their preference:

"It’s an interesting thing the commitment that people have towards Android. When they have it, they’re like, ‘F**k you. I am sticking to my guns.’ And when they do give in, they do give in. A lot of them give in."

When Dustin Poirier secured Samsung sponsorship following his conversation with Joe Rogan

A lighthearted exchange between Dustin Poirier and Joe Rogan about their phone preferences ended up earning 'The Diamond' a sponsorship deal with Samsung.

During his appearance on The Fight with Teddy Atlas in May 2021, Poirier shared that after voicing his fondness for Samsung phones on Rogan's podcast, the South Korean tech giant rewarded him by sending over some of their flagship devices:

"I am out here on Joe Rogan’s podcast, talking about how much of a fan I am of Samsung, and they reach out, and it’s just organic and true because I am using the product... So I am thankful for those brands that wanted to align themselves with me."
