One of the most prolific martial artists to come out of Japan, Yushin Okami, said he’s prepared to showcase everything he’s got against Aung La N Sang at ONE 163.
The long-awaited matchup between two of Asia’s biggest stars is finally coming to fruition on Saturday, November 19, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Fans from all over the MMA spectrum are excited to see Okami prove that he’s still got it by going toe-to-toe with Mayamar’s national hero on the global stage.
At the ONE 163 press conference, ONE Championship announced their thrilling matchup by inviting Okami and Aung La N Sang to the panel to promote their upcoming fight.
Aung La expressed gratitude to Okami for taking the fight and for calling him out. Moreover, ‘The Burmese Python’ promised him that he will do his best to put on a show for their fans.

Okami responded:
“I'm glad to hear him say that too. I am honored that he really accepted the offer to fight and that ONE put this match together. But this is the fight and it is impossible for me to beat him without giving it everything I have. I think I will put [everything I learned in] my entire martial arts career to use in this fight.”
There’s no doubt Yushin ‘Thunder’ Okami will put everything he’s learned in his two-decade-long career into this fight. Before the pandemic and travel restrictions prevented him from competing, Okami looked to be in fine form when he faced Malaysia’s Agilan Thani at ONE: Century-Part I.
It was a nail-biting fight that showcased ‘Thunder’s’ skills as an imposing and accomplished grappler. The control and near submission-finish of his opponent were enough to give him the win by a razor-close split decision.
