Eleventh Hour Games just released the Harbingers of Ruin update for Last Epoch, and there are several new builds for players to use. Since this patch introduces a fresh cycle, players are required to get new characters to play the updated content. Given how complicated the different skills and passives can be, it may be difficult to decide which build to choose on a fresh start.
To help players find the right choice, we've listed some of the best Harbingers of Ruin builds to try out.

5 new builds to use in Last Epoch patch 1.1
1) Avalanche Shatter Shaman
The Avalanche Shatter build for the Shaman class is a brand-new build for the second cycle of Last Epoch. This is a strong setup that can carry you through all the early-game content with a very simple playstyle. It is recommended for both new and returning players.
This Shaman build relies on using the skill Avalanche to activate the Unyielding Storm and Excavation passives. Activating these passives will autocast your Upheaval skill four times in a row, giving you massive single target and AOE damage.
2) Mana Stacking Meteor Sorcerer
The Mana Stacking Meteor Sorceror build is great for new players joining the game for the Harbingers of Ruin update. It's an easy to learn build that is especially good if you haven't unlocked Last Epoch's leveling paths and need to go through the main story.
This build uses the Meteor ability as its source of almost all damage. By using the passives Twin Meteors, Meteor Shower, and Rain of Fire you will fire six meteors at once. In the past, Meteor was difficult to use because of its high mana cost, but new passive abilities have provided a fix for this.
This build's strongest synergy is the the new Archmage passive, which compensates for the high mana cost of Meteor and allows for several consecutive casts.
3) Mana Lightning Sorceror
The Mana Lightning Sorceror build stands out as it requires very little input if played correctly. Its auto-bomber style of attacking also causes it to excel at AOE damage.
The two main abilities to use are Static Orb and Lightning Blast, which work together to create a field of lightning explosions around your character. By putting points into the Cloud Answer passive, your Lightning Blasts may apply Spark Charges on anything they hit. These charges will cause your enemies to explode, spreading damage around them to all nearby mobs.
To make this build as strong as possible, you will need two legendary items. The first item is the Fragment of the Enigma, an off-hand catalyst. The second is the Triboelectra, a new wand added in the Harbingers of Ruin update.

4) Avalanche Storm Bolt Shaman
The Avalanche Storm Bolt Shaman is a simple and safe build to take through the endgame of the new patch. Avalanche will be your primary ability, and it synergizes with Maelstrom by providing Storm Stacks on use.
When you expend Storm Stacks using this build, you will have a chance to cast Maelstrom for free, which will buff your physical damage greatly.
All of the abilities and their passives will work together automatically to make your Avalanche spam an unstoppably strong ability for AOE and single target.
5) Runemaster Spark Charger
The Runemaster Spark Charger build is unique because it is able to compensate for Sorcerer nerfs that have been added in the Harbingers of Ruin update.
By using Static Orbs to grant itself Lightning Aegis, this build stacks extra damage reduction, keeping you safe to focus on attacks. Its main ability is Elemental Nova, a spammable AOE that can be used against all types of enemies.
This build can use different legendary items, such as the Mad Alchemist's Ladle and Prismatic Gaze, to make it more potent, but these are not strictly necessary.
