Destiny 2 fans are eating well this year. Besides the release of the new expansion, Destiny 2: The Final Shape, the developers have released a new collaboration with one of the most well-known RPG franchises in the world, Dungeons and Dragons (DnD). Destiny players can finally experience magic fantasy in their sci-fi setting.
Many believe this Dungeons and Dragons collaboration is part of the 50th anniversary celebration of this iconic IP. Wizards of the Coast is coming up with various such collaborations and other publicity events to raise awareness about the brand’s 50-year-long legacy as well as the upcoming 2024 core rule books.
New Destiny 2 x Dungeons and Dragons crossover reveals Forgotten Realms-inspired cosmetics, but no Baldur's Gate 3 connection
Dungeons and Dragons originally was a tabletop RPG, but the IP has evolved over the years and transitioned to many other mediums such as television, movies, and video games. Recently, DnD had a breakout success in the video game genre thanks to the phenomenal title by Larian Studios, Baldur’s Gate 3.
Baldur’s Gate 3 won almost all the major categories in all the major award events last year and garnered unbelievably positive reviews from both players and critics. However, even after its record-breaking success, Larian Studios has shared that it isn’t going to forward with this IP anymore, due to an alleged sour deal with Wizards of the Coast.
But all the characters and the story of Baldur’s Gate 3 have become the property of DnD and Wizards of the Coast and they can use them in any future projects. This is why many fans had hoped the new Destiny 2 collaboration with DnD may bring their favorite BG 3 character to the game; unfortunately, that's not happening.
The Destiny 2 x Dungeons and Dragons crossover is purely cosmetic. With this collaboration, Destiny players can decorate their characters and vehicles with various skins inspired by the word of DnD. This new set of skins is named, “the Adventurer’s Pack Bundle.” and it includes the following:
- Titan Class will be able to utilize the Gold Dragon-themed Pinnacle Draconic set
- Warlocks can customize their characters with the Mindflayer skin
- Hunters will get the Displacer set which is based on the DnD monster: Displacer beast
- All Guardian classes will get the Bigby’s Fist finisher and the Natural 20 emote
- Vehicle skins: Eye Tyrant Ghost shell, Owlbear Chariot, and Queen of Dragons ship.
You can purchase the bundle from the Destiny 2 Eververse store. It costs around 2000 silvers/$19.99 USD.
