Argus in Reverse 1999: Skills Overview

Here are all of Argus' skills in Reverse 1999:
- Shotgun Shower (Basic Skill 1): She deals damage to a single target and gains Empower Incantation I or II to herself, based on the card’s rank.
- Penetrating Eye (Basic Skill 2): Argus dispels all Stats Up and Pos Status on a single target, and applies Pinpointed debuff for three rounds.
- No Mark Unstruck (Ultimate Skill): She deals damage to a single target with No Mark Unstruck. If the target is under the Pinpointed status effect, she increases the status effect by five stacks and refreshes their duration. She also gains a buff in her Penetration and Critical rate for this skill.
Explanation of Argus’s status effect
- Empower Incantation I: It grants one rank to a random card at the round’s start.
- Empower Incantation II: It grants two ranks to a random card at the round’s start.
- Pinpointed: This status effect reduces Damage Taken Reduction and Critical Defense. Its stack increases by 2/3/4/1 after the enemy gets attacked by one/two/three/no-rank cards (can stack up to 15 times). Each stack increases the value of Damage Taken Reduction and Critical Defense debuffs.

Argus’s Inheritance or passive skill is called Miracle of Hundred Eyes. At Insight I, the Inheritance buffs her damage-dealing ability after she casts her cards. She also gains a Critical Rate buff while entering the battle at Insight II.
At Insight III, the Inheritance adds a ranked card, Grave Digger, to the AP Area right before it resolves. Argus prioritizes attacking the enemies under the Pinpointed status effect with the Grave Digger skill. The card is considered an extra action, and its rank is based on the total rank of cards played in the current round.
The table below charts out the relation between Grave Digger’s rank and the total rank of cards played, along with details about the skill.
Best teams for Argus in Reverse 1999

Argus in Reverse 1999 plays as a Sub-DPS and Support Arcanist. Timekeepers can use her to debuff enemies’ Critical Def and Damage Taken Reduction, allowing their DPS to deal exponential damage. She synergizes excellently with Arcanists who tend to use high-rank cards.
Players can use Plant Afflatus Marcus, Beast Afflatus Melania, Star Afflatus Windsong, Beast Afflatus Spathodea, and Star Afflatus Lily for the DPS role. Meanwhile, Star Afflatus Tooth Fairy, Plant Afflatus Vila, and Plant Afflatus Kakania will do well in healer role.

Should you pull Argus in Reverse 1999?

Argus in Reverse 1999 is not a must-pull Arcanist. Timekeepers can use her in any stage that requires single-target characters and has a boss fight in the Mane’s Bulletin game mode. Still, her kit’s debuff ability is one of the best as it allows DPS characters to deal extra and critical damage.
Timekeepers who have built Arcanists like Marcus and Lucy can pull for Argus. However, f2p players can save their Unilogs and Clear Drops for the 2.2 version update to pull Lopera, a robust Support character, and the next true limited character, Anjo Nala.
