Shade has a unique attack animation where it hugs enemies in front of you swinging both arms. However, if you notice its attack radius, you will see that the center has thicker outlines. This indicates your attack will do double damage to enemies if they are caught in the middle of your attack radius. While Shade’s attack typically does 1600 damage at Level 11, the central area of its attack radius will do 3200 damage, which is strong.

Therefore, whenever you play Shade in Brawl Stars, ensure you are lining this middle area of your attack with your enemy to do maximum damage. Consistently doing so can help you take out enemies in two to three well-placed hits.

2) Hit enemies behind walls

One of the primary reasons why you must aim and line up the middle of your attack’s radius to the enemy is to do double the damage. However, did you know that Shade in Brawl Stars can also hit enemies behind walls?

While this is classified as a trait, Shade is the only character who can do this so far. This makes it a must-pick in maps with many walls, like various Duo Showdown maps in Brawl Stars. As such, it’s best to use this trait as much as possible. In most maps with walls, they are often paired with a bush.

Therefore, you can hide in the bush and decimate enemy lobbers (like Barley, Dynamike, Gus, Berry, etc.) before they can realize your presence.

3) Hover over water to get out of challenging situations

Shade in Brawl Stars has the rare trait of being able to hover over water. He is the fourth Brawler to have this trait after Eve, Angelo, and Juju. As such, it’s best to exploit it as much as possible to gain higher ground on the enemy.

For example. If you are playing game modes like Gem Grab, Bounty, or Knockout, you can easily escape enemies chasing you by hovering over the water, leaving them no option but to back out or find another lane to push.

This will not only help you stay alive for longer but also aid in catching enemies off-guard by hovering over water. This is a good reason why you must know about all the Solo Showdown maps in Brawl Stars to understand which of them are more suitable for Shade.

4) Stay close to enemies to charge your super faster

Shade in Brawl Stars is the first character to have two passive traits — Hover and Proximity. While the Hover trait lets Shade move above water, the Proximity trait allows it to charge its super ability faster by staying close to enemy Brawlers. As such, you will see a circular radius around Shade indicating the range of this trait.

Therefore, keep your enemies in this radius as much as possible if you want to consistently charge and spam your super ability. This works well if you stay near enemies hiding behind walls as you can simply charge your super by doing so.

5) Exploit the super ability as much as possible

Shade has a powerful super ability letting it turn incorporeal and gain 30% additional movement speed. Moreover, the speed buff stacks if you use your super again while in its “ghost” mode. This allows you to zigzag across the map, relocating near enemies trying to hide from your teammates, and killing them like a true assassin.

You can use it cleverly to evade tough spots when you are almost dead, or get in and get out with all the gems you need to win a Gem Grab match. The potential of outplaying your opponents with Shade in Brawl Stars is endless.
