The new Clash Royale patch notes detail the introduction of the new Royal Chef trower troop. This new Legendary tower troop stands out from others of its kind since it throws a pancake to heal your highest-HP troop every 18 seconds.
He can also attack enemy troops when they get too close, dealing slightly less damage than the Princess Tower every second. However, when attacking enemy troops, its pancake-throwing speed decreases — taking up to 30 seconds for a single throw.
All players get the Royal Chef for free for a limited period.
2) Lucky Loop rework
The new December Clash Royale patch notes explain that the Lucky Loop system has been reworked and will be rolled out when the next season starts in January.
For now, if you complete all tiers of the Pass Royale and unlock the final reward, you will continue getting Lucky Drops indefinitely. However, the new system changes this concept.
Following the rework, players will receive one free Lucky Drop every day. So, if you finish your Pass Royale on the 20th day of the season, you can unlock 20 Lucky Drops. You will also get one free Lucky Drop moving forward.
All in all, by the end of the season, you will gain 28 to 35 Lucky Drops in total (if you complete the Pass).
3) More cosmetic rewards in Lucky Drops
This new December 12 Clash Royale patch notes state that players will unlock more cosmetic rewards from their Lucky Drops.
Moving forward, you can expect to get more emotes and banners from these drops. While this feature was already in the game, the devs have now expanded the pool of cosmetic rewards you can get.
4) Removal of the Baby Goblin tower troop
The Baby Goblin tower troop was a unique card that was playable only in the Goblin Queen’s Journey game mode. Although that mode was removed months ago, the baby Goblin still appeared in your card collection.
The new Clash Royale patch notes state that it has finally been removed from the game. Since there was no way to upgrade the Baby Goblin tower troop card, it was preventing players from getting more Elite Wild Cards.
5) Other changes and bug fixes
The developers have also introduced several changes and bug fixes with this patch.
- Removing one task and consolidating Crown Rewards, letting you complete four daily tasks instead of five.
- Players will be notified when they are about to lose their Daily Task Streak.
- Card Delivery Tutorials have been improved visually to prepare players better for upcoming updates.
- The option to switch event decks is now available.
- Bugs regarding the Goblinstein’s Lightning Link Ability and Electro Giant’s Zap dealing higher tower damage than intended have been fixed.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Knight Evolution to take 100% damage (despite having a shield) while chasing a troop.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Mirror to show an incorrect “?” elixir cost.
- Fixed some minor bugs with the Mega Knight, Electro Dragon, Giant Snowball, and Musketeer Evolution cards.
- Fixed various bugs causing the game to crash.
6) “It’s Raining Gifts” event
The new Clash Royale patch notes also introduced the new “It’s Raining Gifts” event which will be active until December 23, 2024.
So far, this new Clash Royale maintenance update fixed several crucial bugs while also adding a new tower troop and fixing the Lucky Loop system. We hope the developers continue to innovate further with the next update as well.
