There are seven types of Girls' Frontline weapons: Assault Rifle (AR), Handgun (HG), Light Machine Gun (LMG), Submachine Gun (SMG), Shotgun (SG), Sniper Rifle (RF), and Sword. Each T-Doll can equip weapons of only one type.

The weapons also have three grades, ranging from the lowest Retired (R) and Standard (SR) to the highest Elite (SSR). They have stats and passives based on their rarity. R and SR rarity weapons possess only one stat: flat ATK. On the other hand, SSR weapons also have a secondary stat in percentages, such as Attack Boost%, Crit DMG%, Crit Rate%, and more.

The Girls' Frontline 2 Exilium weapons also have varying numbers of passives based on their rarity. R rarity weapons only have one Effect; SR and SSR rarity ones have one Effect and one Trait; SSR rarity ones have one Effect, one Trait, and one Signature Effect.

The Signature Effect triggers only if Commanders equip the weapon to its respective Owner. For instance, the Signature Effect of Rectrix weapon, which boosts the damage dealt to Marley Thermal Power Plant triggers only when equipped to its owner, Rectrix.

Targeted Study in GFL2 (Image via Sunborn)
Targeted Study in GFL2 (Image via Sunborn)

Commanders can get attachments by clearing stages in the Targeted Study. They can access it from Campaign > Supply Missions > Targeted Study. There are four sections in the Targeted Study dedicated to a specific weapon type to farm their attachments. Each section offers multiple stages: I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, and VIII, with increasing difficulty.

There is a high chance of obtaining higher rarity attachments from the latter stages. Therefore, it’s better to spend Stamina when one has access to the VIII stage that unlocks upon reaching Commander Level 43.
