Buzz Lightyear in Brawl Stars will be available as a limited-time Brawler from December 12, 2024, until February 4, 2024. All players will get him for free. Moreover, like every other character in the game, Buzz Lightyear will have his own Space Ranger Mastery Track, where you can unlock many new pins and emotes by winning more trophies playing him.

That said, Buzz Lightyear can be used in all game modes except Ranked. Moreover, he will be an infinity-level Brawler – the first of his kind. As such, he should be at max level when you get him and will not be upgradeable. His Gadget, Star Power, and Hypercharge should already be unlocked.

Also, every trophy you gain using him will be added to your seasonal trophy Box, which is a thoughtful addition.

Buzz Lightyear in Brawl Stars: All three modes explained

One of the most unique features of Buzz Lightyear is the three modes. They all have different attacks and super abilities, which means they have varying playstyles. These are:

  • Laser Mode: In this mode, he shoots out lasers, similar to 8-Bit with a marksman-like playstyle. The laser attacks also deal damage over time to enemies hit, much like Crow. His super launches his lasers in a wider cone, allowing you to hit multiple enemies in a distance.
  • Saber Mode: In this mode, Buzz Lightyear uses his sword and becomes a melee-brawler like Bibi, preferring to fight enemies in close range. His super allows you to jump and land on an enemy in a distance, knocking them back and dealing high damage like El Primo's super.
  • Wing Mode: In this mode, Buzz Lightyear shoots two bullets in front of him, which deals more damage the closer you are to the enemy. The playstyle of this mode is similar to a reversed version of Piper. His super lets you jump and fly in a straight line, dropping bombs in the area you fly over like Janet’s super.

Buzz Lightyear’s Hypercharge buffs the damage of his attacks and super but doesn’t give him any additional special abilities or alter his super. So far, Buzz Lightyear seems to be a great Brawler since you can switch between his modes at will between matches. It’s interesting to see Brawl Stars releasing this temporary character, and we hope to see more in the future.
