Netflix has revealed Squid Game Unleashed, a new mobile game that will be available for free from December 17, 2024, for a limited time. The streaming giant made the announcement during The Game Awards 2024, much to the delight of Squid Game fans.
This move aims to capitalize on the immense popularity of the series, which is set to return for a highly anticipated second season on December 26, 2024.

Squid Game Unleashed is designed as a multiplayer battle royale experience, allowing up to 32 players to compete in various mini-games inspired by the original shows deadly challenges. Players can engage in iconic games like "Red Light, Green Light" and Glass Bridge" but with a twist that emphasizes fun over the grim stakes of the series.
The title will be available on both Android and iOS devices without requiring a Netflix subscription, making it inclusive for players worldwide.
Alain Tascan, president of Games at Netflix, emphasized that the game's goal is to let fans enjoy the Squid Game universe while fostering a sense of community.
"Squid Game: Unleashed is all about playing with (or against) your friends in the iconic games from the series like Glass Bridge and Red Light Green Light, so we're inviting everyone into the chaos this holiday season," he stated during the announcement at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
