Rainbow Six Mobile is currently slated for global release sometime in the second half of next year. While this was initially supposed to be released this month, it seems that the devs are taking more time to introduce new features and polish this game to provide the quintessential Rainbow Six experience on the small screen.
With a recent X post, the devs shared some details about all three testing phases the game will go through before launch. They are:
Phase 1: Technical Phase
This is the first phase of the Rainbow Six Mobile release roadmap, where the devs added a lot of features to the game, along with taking close feedback from all players since November 2024.
As such, this phase is aimed at letting players experience the soft launch of the game available in select regions. The primary objective of this phase is to collect feedback from players regarding the game’s performance and stability and make changes accordingly to make the game better according to the player’s wishes.
Phase 2: Engagement Phase
The second phase of the Rainbow Six Mobile global launch is the Engagement Phase, which will start in January 2025. Since Phase 1 was conducted with a limited player base from a few select regions, we expect the game will be available in more regions. This might allow the devs to stress-test their servers and test the stability of matchmaking with more players and fewer bots.
Phase 3: Transition Phase
After devs have made necessary changes to the game during Phase 2, the game will enter its Transition Phase. During this phase, the final optimization changes and system balances might be rolled out, all of which might aim at perfecting the game for a global launch. Moreover, since this phase is named the “Transition” phase, many players might get their player profiles and rank data reset.
What to expect from Rainbow Six Mobile Phase 2?
The devs have announced that Rainbow Six Mobile Phase 2 will start in January 2025 since they are satisfied with the Phase 1 results, we might see the game being launched in an early-access state in more regions.
Since we currently have Operation: Ice Storm as the battle pass for the current season, we might see a new one in January with new rewards to unlock. This will be crucial for Ubisoft to get more people interested in playing this game.
We might also get more grindable in-game content, like free weapons and Operator skins, to keep players engaged. This is essential since this phase might heavily aim at attracting new players and keep them playing through more special events and new unlockables.
Moreover, we will get more players since the devs intend to test the performance of their servers and how they affect matchmaking. If players have good connectivity and stable ping while playing Rainbow Six Mobile, the devs can get positive feedback.
Once the devs believe that the game is ready, they will proceed to the Transition Phase before globally launching this game sometime in mid-2025.
