Bluepoch will roll out the new Reverse 1999 version 2.2 update after the closed server maintenance on January 9, 2025. The update is set to expand the game's narrative with Chapter 8: Tristes Tropiques and introduce new characters, garments, events, and more. It also offers Timekeepers many freebies, including free 6-star and 5-star characters, the Collector’s Edition of a Festival-version Roar Jukebo, and more.

New main story chapter in Reverse 1999 version 2.2 update

In the Reverse 1999 version 2.2 update, Bluepoch will introduce the eighth chapter of the main story, Tristes Tropiques. Timekeepers will traverse to Sao Paulo, Brazil, with Vertin and her companion for the next adventure. A mysterious writer, the stationed Zeno Forces, and a “familiar face” who vanished in the “storm” await in the region.
Timekeepers must complete the main story, Vereisamt, to unlock the eighth chapter. The chapter’s main event will start on January 9, 2025, and end on February 17, 2025. Players can complete the various stages during its run to earn Spare Scrap, Clear Drops, and Picrasma Gummy as main rewards.
Timekeepers can exchange Spare Scrap at the event shop, Veteran’s Garage, which will be available from January 9, 2025, to February 20, 2025. The main rewards here include the new 6-star Reverse 1999 Psychube: Transcendent Love, Glutty, Crystal Casket, Unilog, Wilderness theme pack (Tropical Splendor), and more.
Here is a list of side events in Tristes Tropiques:
- Paths of the Past: This event will be available after the server maintenance on January 9, 2025. During its run, Timekeepers can collect fragments of a character’s past. They can connect fragments within a character’s path to unlock their monologue. Participating in this event requires clearing Chapter 8, Unshakeable Justice.
- Trip to Sao Paulo: This event will be available from January 9, 2025, to February 17, 2025. Timekeepers can complete tasks to obtain various rewards, including Spare Scrap (main reward).

New banners in the Reverse 1999 version 2.2 update
1) Longing for Innocence
The Longing for Innocence banner will be available from January 9, 2025, to February 20, 2025, in the Reverse 1999 version 2.2 update. It features a true limited character, a 6-star Anjo Nala of Beast Afflatus, and a 5-star Mr. Duncan of Beast Afflatus. It doesn’t share guarantees with other banners.
Every summon grants a Cassette of the Lost, which players can exchange for Anjo Nala, Mr. Duncan, and Insight Materials at the limited shop. Timekeepers can spend 200 Cassettes of the Lost for a copy of Anjo Nala.

2) Fledgling’s First Fight
The Fledgling’s First Fight banner will be available in the Reverse 1999 version 2.2 update from January 30, 2025 to February 20, 2025. It features a new 6-star character, Lopera of Beast Afflatus, along with two existing 5-star characters: Ulu ofMineral Afflatus and Click of Spirit Afflatus. Bluepoch will add Lopera to the standard pool after the version 2.5 update.
3) Boon of the Water
Boon of the Water is a time-limited summoning banner, available from January 25, 2025, to February 15, 2025, in the Reverse 1999 version 2.2 update. Timekeepers can select and lock three characters from the available pool to boost their drop rate. Upon obtaining a 6-star unit in the summoning, they will get one of the selected characters. The first multi-summon costs only five Unilogs.
Boon of the Water doesn’t share guarantees with other banners in the Reverse 1999 version 2.2 update.

New events in the Reverse 1999 version 2.2 update
Here is a list of all new events in the Reverse 1999 version 2.2 update:
- The Overcast October: This event features Anjo Nala’s story, which will be available from January 9, 2025, to February 20, 2025. Timekeepers can obtain multiple rewards by clearing the stages, including Clear Drops and Growth Materials.
- Into the Rainforest: This event features Lopera’s story, which will be available from January 30, 2025, to February 20, 2025. Timekeepers can obtain multiple rewards by clearing the stages, including Clear Drops and Growth Materials.
- Carnival Special Guest: This event will be available from January 9, 2025, to February 20, 2025, in the Reverse 1999 version 2.2 update. Players can log in to the app during the event to obtain an unowned 6-star character (released up to the version 1.9 update).
- Carnival Invitation: This event will be available from January 9, 2025, to February 20, 2025. Players can get one of the 5-star characters from the available pool for free by logging in to the app during the event. A duplicate character converts into an Artifice or Tracks of the Lost.
- Carnival Album: This is the free Festival-Version Roar Jukebox, which will be available from January 9, 2025, to February 17, 2025. Players can log in during the event and unlock the Collector’s Edition for free. They will get a free garment upon reaching the Decibel level 10.
- Triumph of Freedom: This event will be available from January 9, 2025, to February 20, 2025. Players can log in during the event to get one Decatone with 10 Unilogs for free. They can use it only on the Longing for Innocence banner.
- Turning of the Year: This sign-in event will be available from January 9, 2025, to February 8, 2025. Players can get Clear Drops and a Limited building by logging into the app during the event.
- Twilight in the Southern Hemisphere: This sign-in event will conclude in two parts. The first part starts on January 9, 2025, and ends on January 30, 2025. The second part will be available from January 30, 2025, to February 20, 2025. Players can get 10 Unilogs for logging in to the app daily during each event.
- Carnival Guide: This event will be available from January 9, 2025, to February 20, 2025. Players can clear specific tasks during the event for various rewards: Limited Dynamic Portrait: Extraordinary Journey, Limited Building: Hot-Air Balloon, and Limited Collectible: “Clickety-clack” Toy Train.
- Irresistible Bait — Like Dust to Critters: This event will be available from January 28, 2025, to February 4, 2025. Players can log in daily during the event and earn rare materials from the Wilderness.
- The Window to Other Worlds: This is a new addition to A Series of Dusks, which will be available from February 1, 2025. Bluepoch has updated the phase VIII rewards, granting an Update of Suitcase Settings: Trade Winds Garden.
- Mane’s Bulletin: The new iteration of Mane’s Bulletin will be available from January 14, 2025, to February 20, 2025. It will feature three investigation targets: Fog of War, Hypothesis of Exhibition, and Gold in the Cave. Timekeepers can also play a new Breaking Catastrophe mode in Mane’s Bulletin of Reverse 1999 version 2.2 update. The event rewards Gluttony, Greed, Resonance, Insight Materials, and more.
- Anecdotes update: Bluepoch will introduce two new Anecdotes: A Day Plotted Logarithmically (featuring 37) and A Night Without End (featuring Mesmer Jr.). The former Anecdote will be available from January 13, 2025, to February 27, 2025, while the latter will be available from January 27, 2025, to February 10, 2025. Timekeepers can get 5-star Psychubes and Greed as rewards.
- Memo — Prepare for Victory: This event will be available from February 15, 2025, to February 20, 2025. Players can log in during the event to uncover clues and earn rewards. The main rewards include Clear Drops, Picrasma Candy, and Growth Materials.
- Greetings from the Suitcase: This event will be available from January 9, 2025, to February 20, 2025. Timekeepers can invite players who meet the required conditions to join back the game and complete the corresponding tasks to earn Clear Drops.
- Double Analysis: This event will be available from February 8, 2025, to February 18, 2025. Timekeepers can get double rewards by completing the Pneuma Analysis stage during the event.
- New version 2.2 Roar Jukebox, Tropicalismo: This jukebox will be available from January 9, 2025, to February 17, 2025. Timekeepers can get Yenisei’s limited garment, Around the Riverbend, upon unlocking the Collector’s Edition.

Bluepoch will add two new game modes and a challenge mode in the Reverse 1999 version 2.1 update.
- Ms. NewBabel’s Critter Rehabilitation Center: Timekeepers can unlock this game mode upon reaching Paleohall level 7. They can get Brand-new amusement sites, transportation decorative elements, and waterbody constructions as main rewards.
- White Rum’s Travelogue: Timekeepers can unlock this game mode by completing the main story chapter 8, stage 24. They can get a 4-star Arcanist: White Rum and White Rum’s Artifice ✕ 5 as rewards.
- Phototaxis in Study—Mask On: Timekeepers can unlock this game mode by completing the main story, Nouvelles et Textes pour Rien. This challenge mode has three phases: Memory Place, Imagination Palace I-III, Imagination Palace IV-VI, and Moth Code. Imagination Palace I-III will be available from January 30, 2025, to February 13, 2025, Imagination Palace IV-VI from February 26, 2025, to February 13, 2025, and Moth Code from January 30, 2025, to February 20, 2025. Players can get Poltergest’s limited garments: Under a Different Sea, Themed Portrait, Crystal Casket, and Growth Materials as rewards.
New Wilderness theme pack
Bluepoch will introduce a new Wilderness theme pack, Tropical Splendor, in the Reverse 1999 version 2.2 update.
The Tropical Splendor (partial) pack will be available at the Wilderness shop from January 9, 2025, to February 20, 2025. Wilderness theme packs: Thoughts of the Sand (partial) and Leap Over Red Sands (partial) will be permanently available in the Wilderness shop.
