Sarge is one of the best heroes in Shadow Fight 4: Arena. He has a slower and more methodical playstyle since he has low attack power. Players always try to use the Will Suppression ability after knocking down opponents to deal massive damage to them. Moreover, they try to focus on using his Shadow form more since he is invulnerable and cannot be damaged in this mode.

Here is a list of all Sarge changes in the Shadow Fight 4 Arena 1.9.30.90 patch:

Changes

Description

Attack power

Attack power increased from 76 to 87

Shadow power

Shadow power increased from 76 to 87

Basic attack

Your opponent’s block pushback on Sarge’s third hit has been increased

Spinning attack

Sarge’s stepback distance has been reduced along with its unbreakability frames

Heavy attack

The range of his heavy attack has been increased

Lower attack

His second hit’s distance has been increased

Upper attack

The player regains control of Sarge a bit later since his frame advantage upon successful strikes has been reduced

Special attack

Sarge's special attack startup has been increased, along with your opponent’s reaction to the second hit. He now has a pushback effect on the second hit, which lets players gain control of him faster

Will Suppression ability

The effectiveness of this ability has been adjusted to take into account the aforementioned attack power and shadow power changes

Detonators epic weapon

Fixed a bug where the Detonators explosion area did not match its visual effects on the screen

Prison of Souls epic weapon

The effectiveness of this weapon has been increased

Perseverance talent

This talent’s explosion now deals damage

According to the Sarge changes above in this new Shadow Fight 4 Arena patch, the devs have made him less dependent on his Will Suppression ability by buffing his raw attack and shadow power stats. The same was done to dissuade players from spamming spinning attacks repeatedly while using the Detonators epic weapon.

His Prison of Souls epic weapon has been buffed since most players only stock with his Detonators epic weapon, which has now been nerfed a bit. Additionally, his moveset now complements these changes.

Both his lower attacks can now connect after you successfully throw an enemy. The range of his heavy attack has also been increased to make it more viable in combos. The same can be said for his unpreferred Perseverance talent.

This is what the devs had to say regarding this change in the latest Shadow Fight 4 Arena patch:

“The effectiveness of the “Prison of Souls” epic weapon has been increased to match that of “Detonators”. We’ve made the overall moveset safer and adjusted hitboxes for several attacks: for example, now both of Sarge’s lower attack hits should connect after a successful throw. Heavy attack now reaches further which should increase its usefulness.

Sarge's spinning attack has been nerfed by shortening the unbreakability window, along with reducing the distance of his step-back animation. His upper attacks have also been changed to prevent players from pulling off unfair combos that deal lots of damage.

Additionally, his special attack is now safe on blocks, along with being less effective against prone opponents. This is what the devs said regarding this change:

"The spinning attack was nerfed by shortening the unbreakability window, as well as reducing the distance covered during the step back. The upper attack was adjusted so that it no longer allows unfair combos that deal excessive damage. Special attack is now safe on block and is less effective against prone opponents.”

Overall, this seems like a good change to make Sarge more balanced, allowing players to unlock new playstyles in competitive play. However, none of these changes seem to “revamp” Sarge since they only adjust his stats and nerf and buff his abilities, epic weapons, and talents.
