Upcoming Reverse 1999 Arcanists expected in versions 2.3 - 2.4

Bluepoch will introduce five Reverse 1999 Arcanists in versions 2.3 and 2.4. The developer recently launched the 2.4 patch in the CN version of the game, debuting two 6-star characters. On the other hand, the 2.3 patch introduced one 5-star and two 6-star units.

This article lists all the upcoming Reverse 1999 Arcanists with a brief description of their kits. Note that this information is based on the title’s CN version and might differ from the global release.


All upcoming Reverse 1999 Arcanists in version 2.3

1) Flutterpage

Fultterpage is the 6-star Reverse 1999 Arcanist debuting in version 2.3. She has DPS, extra action, and support tags and deals Reality damage. This character can increase Action Points (AP) and provide team-wide damage buffs. She can cast all her cards as follow-up attacks with her Ultimate Skill.

Here are the details of Flutterpage's skills:

  • Knock, Knock (Basic Skill 1): Flutterpage deals damage to all enemies with Knock, Knock, and gains Gust stacks, lasting a certain number of rounds.
  • Cotton Kite (Basic Skill 2): Flutterpage deals damage to a single enemy and gains the Continuous Action I effect, lasting a certain number of rounds.
  • A Dream That Never Gets Old (Ultimate Skill): A Dream That Never Gets Old is a self-channel skill that helps this Reverse 1999 Arcanist recover all Eurekas. She converts all her incantations into Regards from the Sky and casts them if she can. Flutterpage enters the A Dream That Never Gets Old status for some rounds. She can’t gain Moxie while channeling.

Flutterpage also gains various status effects through Inheritance, like Paper Parade, Wave of Sheets, and Adieu, Mother Earth.

Here are the details of this Reverse 1999 Arcanist's status effects:

  • Gust: Flutterpage generates different forcefields at the round’s beginning, based on the number of Gust stacks. Gust can stack up to 50 times.
  • Continuous Action I: Grants one additional Action Point (AP) for one round.
  • A Dream That Never Grows Old: A Dream That Never Grows Old helps her recover all Eurekas. She converts all her incantations into Regards from the Sky and casts them if she can. She gains a certain number of Moxies depending on the active Gust forcefield when channeling ends.
  • Regards from the Sky: This is a mass attack that deals Reality damage to all enemies and additional damage to the main target.
  • Paper Parade forcefield: Affects all enemies. The extra Reality damage from allies is considered as dealt by Flutterpage. It deals Reality damage to all enemies and additional damage to the primary target. Paper Parade consumes two of Flutterpage’s Eureka, dealing Reality damage to all enemies and additional damage to the primary target. This effect triggers while performing an extra action.
  • Wave of Sheets forcefield: While performing an extra action, Flutterpage’s Genesis and Damage dealt buffs by a certain percentage for every Gust stack. All other effects are the same as the Paper Parade.
  • Adieu, Mother Earth forcefield: The extra action is guaranteed to score a critical hit, and her damage dealt and the Genesis damage increases based on this Reverse 1999 Arcanist's critical rate and critical damage. All other effects are the same as Wave of Sheets.

2) Willow

Willow is another upcoming Reverse 199 Arcanist, debuting in version 2.3. She belongs to the Plant Afflatus, deals Mental damage, and has DPS, Poison, and Burst Damage tags. She inflicts Poison at the start of rounds upon upgrading her Inheritance to Insight I. In addition to inflicting Poison, her skills can apply a new effect called Hag’s Bane.

Here are the details of Willow’s skills:

  • Hag’s Advice (Basic Skill 1): This deals damage to a single target. If the enemy is already under the Poison effect, a certain number of its stacks convert into Hag’s Bane (each Poison stack converts to one Hag’s Bane).
  • Hag’s Gratitude (Basic Skill 2): Hag’s Gratitude deals damage to a single target. If the enemy is already under the Poison and Hag’s Bane effects, Willow consumes some Poison stacks to trigger all Hag’s Bane effects once on the target.
  • In the Fire, In the Shadow (Ultimate skill): Willow’s Ultimate Skill causes her to trigger the Ancient Ritual channel. All enemies under the Ancient Ritual status will get the Hag's Bane effect triggered for a certain number of times. The channel depletes a certain number of Moxies at the end of each round, inflicting Hag’s Bane effect on all enemies. The Arcanist casts an Ending Pose incantation and ends the channel by depleting all Moxies if there is insufficient Moxie.

Here are this Reverse 1999 Arcanist's status effects:

  • Hag’s Bane: This is a negative status effect that is considered Poison and lasts two rounds. After a round ends, the enemy receives a certain amount of Genesis damage, and Hag’s Bone damage taken increases for one round, stacking up to four times (up to 10 stacks maximum).
  • Ending Pose: This deals Mental damage to all enemies and additional Genesis damage for every stack of Hag’s Bane.

3) Brimley

Brimley is the 5-star Reverse 1999 Arcanist debuting in version 2.3. The unit belongs to the Mineral Afflatus, deals Mental damage, and has support, dispeller, and extra action tags. He can cleanse debuffs, buff allies, and cause allies to cast one of their incantations as a follow-up attack.

Here are the details of Brimely’s skills:

  • Keep Movin’! (Basic Skill 1): Keep Movin’! mass attacks enemies and grants Equestrianism after attacking (can stack). All stacks of Equestrianism are depleted after reaching a certain threshold, causing allies under the Let’s Ride status to cast one of their incantations (can trigger only once per round).
  • Saddle Up! (Basic Skill 2): Saddle Up buffs an ally, granting the Let’s Ride status for some rounds. Only one Let’s Ride status can exist at a time on the battlefield. At Insight I, this skill can dispel Stats Down, Neg Status, and Control statuses from the enemies.
  • Let’s Go, Mate! (Ultimate Skill): Let’s Go, Mate! attacks all enemies, reducing their Reality defense by a certain percentage for three turns. After that, the ally under the Let’s Ride status effect casts one of their incantations.

Here are this Reverse 1999 Arcanist's status effects:

  • Let’s Ride: This status buffs attack based on Brimley’s attack while performing an extra action.
  • Equestrianism: The ally under Let’s Ride status casts a follow-up attack when Equestrianism reaches a certain number of stacks.

All upcoming Reverse 1999 Arcanists in version 2.4

1) Fatutu

Fatutu is the 6-star Reverse 1999 Arcanist debuting in version 2.4. She belongs to the Mineral Afflatus, deals Mental damage, and has heal, dispeller, and extra action tags. The character can debuff enemies, provide buffs, and dispel debuffs from allies. His healing ability unlocks after upgrading his Inheritance to the Insight level I.

Here are the details of Fatutu’s skills:

  • Unmendable Cracks (Basic Skill 1): This debuffs a single target, dealing damage and applying Spirit Shells status effect. The skill also dispels one random Stats Down, Neg Status, and Control statuses from all allies.
  • Ocean in the Shell (Basic Skill 2): Ocean in the Shell buffs all allies, dividing all their HP equally. It also applies the Shared Shells, Shared Fate effect on all allies and retrieves Spirit Shells.
  • Proverb of the Sea (Ultimate Skill): Proverb of the Sea attacks a single enemy, dealing damage and applying all Spirit Shells. Then, Fatutu applies the Shell Beacon status effect on the enemy.

Here are this Reverse 1999 Arcanist's status effects:

  • Spirit Shell: When active on Fatutu, this applies the Spirit Shell effect to enemies when this Reverse 1999 Arcanist is attacked or receives distributed damage. When active on enemies, it increases their damage taken and the critical damage taken they receive from extra action (can stack). Fatutu retrieves Spirit Shell from the enemy after it gets attacked.
  • Shell Beacon: Shell Beacon reapplies the exact amount of Spirit Shells after Fatutu retrieves them from the enemies.
  • Shared Shells, Shared Fate: Fatutu distributes damage among all allies when he gets attacked, and its stack is reduced by one. Shared Shells, Shared Fate can stack up to 30 times.

2) Barcarola

Barcarola is another Reverse 1999 Arcanist debuting in version 2.4. She belongs to the Star Afflatus, deals Mental damage, and has DPS, Support, and Inspiration tags. The unit comes with two new in-game mechanics: Impromptu Incantation and Inspiration.

Here are the details of Barcarola’s skills:

  • Cascading Arpeggios (Basic Skill 1): Barcarola deals damage to a single enemy and consumes two Eurekas, increasing the number of Impromptu Incantation attacks by one. If three or more allies have the Quartet, Impromptu Incantation attacks increase additionally by one.
  • Music of the Heart (Basic Skill 2): Barcarola deals damage to a single enemy with Music of the Heart. She consumes two Eurekas, buffing this turn’s Impromptu Incantation damage by a certain percentage. In case of three or more allies under the Quartet effect, the damage of Impromptu Incantations buffs further.
  • Sea Breeze Serenade (Ultimate Skill): Barcarola deals damage to a single target with Sea Breeze Serenade. It increases the duration of all Quartets. It causes the Arcanist and a selected ally to enter a Quartet for a certain number of rounds. The duration of the Quartet increases if they are already in Quartet status. The skill also increases Moxie and this turn’s Impromptu Incantation's Inspiration.

Here are this Reverse 1999 Arcanist's status effects:

  • Inspiration: This status effect increases for each Eureka consumed. It is distributed equally (up to 5 per incantation) to random incantations (unused Inspirations are removed at the end of each round). Impromptu Incantation is added to the spell queue when Arcanists cast a card with Inspiration (each Inspiration buffs the damage of Impromptu Incantation.)
  • Impromptu Incantation: This deals Mental damage to a single enemy, dealing additional damage based on the Inspiration effect. The number of Impromptu Incantation attacks increases based on the number of Inspiration.
  • Quartet: This status effect buffs the attack stat by 300. Barcarola's attack increases by an additional amount based on the Inspiration (updated at the start of each turn). It also increases by a certain percentage for every ally in the Quartet status. Allies in the Quartet consume one Eureka, and the number of Impromptu Incantation’s Inspiration is increased after using an attack-type skill (this effect is undispellable).
