The upcoming Clash Royale December update seems to have a lot in store for players. According to a leak by Royale API, one of the most trusted Clash Royale content creators, the game’s next update scheduled for December 16, 2024, might have several new changes, including a rework of the Lucky Loop reward system, a deck preview redesign, Supercell ID rewards, and more.
This article will explain all the expected additions (and one subtraction) that might come with the next Clash Royale December update (Q4 2024 update).

Clash Royale December update: What we know so far
1) Lucky Loop rework
The Lucky Loop is an in-game reward system where players can earn more Lucky Drop rewards even after completing all tiers of the Pass Royale. The more crowns you earn after the last tier, the more Lucky Drops you will get. However, the number of crowns required for the next Drop increases every time you get one.
Unfortunately, this system seems to have a problem — it is extremely easy to get these drops. Even after completing the pass, the most active players were able to get up to 43 extra Lukcy Drops by the time the season ended. Therefore, it became less of a challenge, allowing active players to potentially farm almost unlimited Drops.
As such, this system might be changed with the next Clash Royale December update. Instead of having to complete the Pass Royale to unlock the additional Lucky Drops, the most active players will now get one additional Drop each day upon completing the daily missions.
However, you will not be able to claim these rewards until the season ends. Therefore, if you get the additional Drop every day, you will be able to claim up to a maximum of 35 (unconfirmed) Lucky Drops when the season ends. This number will depend on the season's duration.
2) New Lucky Drop cosmetics
In the last Clash Royale update, players were able to get additional cosmetic rewards from Lucky Drops like emotes. However, the initial pool of emotes available as rewards was very small. Therefore, this Clash Royale December update might increase this pool of cosmetic rewards by adding more emotes and banners.
3) Removal of Baby Goblins
The Baby Goblins were a unique tower troop that you get only for the temporary Goblin Queen’s Journey mode. However, despite the mode being removed months prior, this tower troop has remained in everyone’s card collection.
As such, it became impossible for players who have maxed out all their cards to Level 15 to convert their Wild Cards and Common Books to Elite Wild Cards. Therefore, the upcoming Clash Royale December update might aim to fix it by removing it from the game entirely.
4) Deck preview redesign
So far, all your deck preview icons in the game had a golden frame. However, according to Royale API’s leaks, this might be changed to a silver frame with the upcoming Clash Royale December Q4 2024 update.
5) Event deck switcher optimization
The Event deck switcher will probably be optimized better with the next update. Whenever you go to the Events tab, you might now be able to see which deck is currently chosen as your event deck. Moreover, you might even be able to change your deck from here instead of going back to the Decks tab.
6) 20 Win Challenge Dates
We got to know in a previous official announcement that the Clash Royale 20-Win Challenge will be postponed to take place from December 19 to December 26, 2024. This event will finally arrive in-game with the upcoming Clash Royale December update. Moreover, the new Royal Chef tower troop will be banned from this event.
