In one of the greatest Moto GP races of all time, Marc Marquez of the Honda clinched the Australian Moto GP at Phillip Island, by clocking a time of 40’33.849, in the final lap of the race on Sunday.
Jorge Lorenzo, who was leading for most part of the race finished in second place while Andrea Iannone in the Ducati finished third.Lorenzo’s teammate, Valentino Rossi, who had such a poor time in qualifying on Saturday, finished in 4th place.

Despite that result though, the Italian remains in the lead with a tally of 286 points followed by Lorenzo, who is now 11 points behind his Yamaha teammate with 285 points and Marquez is third with 222 points.
The next round of Moto Gp is scheduled for Malaysia at the Sepang International Circuit on the 25th of October.
