Jerez (Spain), May 4 (IANS)
Jorge Lorenzo won the Spanish Moto Grand Prix after dominating the race here. Lorenzo, who on Friday announced he was extending his contract to ride with Yamaha, was the clear winner of the race ahead of reigning World Champion Marc Marquez on Sunday, reports Xinhua.
Marquez, of the Honda team, produced a brave display despite an injured hand to finish ahead of Valentino Rossi, the leader of this year's Championship.
The race, however, was not spectacular because Lorenzo, who was 27 seconds faster than he had been in the same race a year ago, gave his rivals no option of catching him.
