Double world champion Casey Stoner holds the record for being the only rider to lead every single lap of a race at the Malaysian Grand Prix. The Australian achieved this feat in 2007 and then again in 2009.

In 2007, it was extra special for Stoner as he won the first of his two World Championships. Stoner is the second rider from Team Ducati to have won a race at Sepang. The first was Loris Capirossi in 2005.
