Budapest, July 7 (IANS) India's Aditya Patel and Portuguese team-mate Cesar Campanico of Team Novadriver had a rather disappointing finish to the weekend in the International GT Open as they finished fifth in the first race and sixth in the second, at the Hungaroring circuit.

The team tried to drive a sensible race after missing out in the first race. Unfortunately, the advantage that their competitors enjoyed on this circuit was too big for the duo to manage and fell from third to sixth in the closing stages with Campanico behind the wheel.

The start was taken by Patel who is supported by JK Racing, Amante and Audi.

An incident with another car on turn one cost Patel a position, but that didn't stop the Indian from pushing hard. After a perfect pit stop, the team found themselves in third place but only to lose the position with five laps to go and thereby finishing sixth.

Patel said: "It wasn't the kind of weekend we expected after Jerez. We just have to hope we don't suffer as much in the other circuits. Right now we are down nearly eight kmph on top speed. Hopefully, the organizers will look into the matter. Till then, we can only keep pushing with what we've got."
