In yesterday’s IndyCar Grand Prix in Houston, 2 time IndyCar champion Dario Franchitti was involved in a horrible crash while trying to make a move on Takuma Sato.
The medical team at the circuit worked quickly to rescue Franchitti, who was fortunately alert the entire time. He was taken to the hospital where it was later revealed that he suffered a broken ankle as well as a fracture to his spine. Here’s a CNN report on the same:
This crash comes close to Dan Wheldon’s death 2nd anniversary, who suffered a horrific crash in Las Vegas. A part of the debris flew into the stands, injuring 13 fans, but once again, thankfully there weren’t any casualties there either, apart from a few injuries.
