Kaulig Racing on Saturday announced that Ty Dillon will replace Daniel Hemric in the Cup Series for the 2025 season. However, Dillon will drive the number 10 after the team released the rights to number 31 to acquire his number.
With Dillon taking over his ride, Hemric will not return to the team after this season. Here are some probable destinations that Hemric might choose in 2025.
#1 Daniel Hemric could switch to Truck Series
With limited Cup Series opportunities, Daniel Hemric might make the switch to the Truck Series next season. He might take over Christian Eckes' number 19 at McAnally-Hilgemann Racing. Bob Pockrass, from his official X account, hinted at this, calling it a possibility.
According to the Fox Sports journalist, Christian Eckes' departure from the number 19 Chevrolet Silverado might open up a place for Hemric. Eckes is set to move to the Xfinity Series next season and drive the number 16 for Kaulig Racing.
"Still tbd from what I gather on where Hemric ends up. I do think trucks are a possibility but exactly which truck he ends up in also still tbd. With Eckes leaving the 19 truck, I'd say that's a possibility but wouldn't say it's a definite from the people I talked to yesterday," Pockrass wrote.
#2 Move to Rick Ware Racing in Cup Series
Rick Ware Racing recently made a deal with Spire Motorsports where it swapped out Justin Haley for Corey LaJoie. This was for its only charter. However, if Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing acquires a charter from Stewart-Haas Racing and leases it to Rick Ware Racing, Daniel Hemric might have an opening.
#3 Move to 23XI Racing or Front Row Motorsport in Cup Series
Both 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsport have been linked with Stewart-Haas Racing over the transfer of one charter each. However, Zane Smith and Riley Herbst are regarded as favorites for these two seats.
However, none of that looks set as of now because of the ongoing charter tussle between 23XI, FRM, and NASCAR. If the dispute gets resolved in the near future, and any of the two teams deem Daniel Hemric as a better option over Smith and Herbst, the former can secure another Cup Series seat as his landing spot in 2025.
