3 times Bubba Wallace lost his cool on the track, ft. Alex Bowman feud

Bubba Wallace has been competing full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series since 2018 and has had several moments where his emotions have taken over during races. The 31-year-old has been involved in some heated incidents, both on track and online.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Wallace lost a sponsor after he quit the 2020 virtual race, NASCAR eSports Pro Invitational Series. Here are three other times Wallace has lost his cool.

Door-slamming Alex Bowman in 2024

Alex Bowman celebrated his first win of the season at the 2024 Chicago Street Race in July. He, however, spun Wallace on Turn 2 on the Lap 25 restart and things got tense when Wallace later expressed his anger.

After the race, Wallace hit Bowman’s car with his own, a move known as "door-slamming." This happened on the cool-down lap when the drivers were no longer racing.

Bowman said the hit was deserved and did not think Wallace should be punished.

"I’d be mad, too. I ruined his day. The restart was chaotic. I just made every wrong decision that I possibly could. I was fighting with my windshield wiper switch trying to get it working and I couldn’t get it working. I was focused on that, missed the corner,” Bowman said.

Wallace was later penalized by NASCAR with a $50,000 fine.

Wreck with Kyle Larson in 2022

Bubba Wallace got into a heated moment with Kyle Larson at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2022. Wallace hit the wall after Larson made a move. Wallace later bumped Larson’s car in retaliation and sent him into the wall.

The crash also involved Christopher Bell, who lost his chance to make it to the championship.

Wallace did not admit to wrecking Larson on purpose but later confronted him, pushing and shouting at him. He also received a one-race suspension for the incident.

Bubba Wallace splashed liquid at Bowman in 2019

Bowman and Bubba Wallace also had a few run-ins at Charlotte Motor Speedway in September 2019. On the first lap of the Round of 12 race, Bowman's No. 88 Chevrolet braked too late and hit Wallace. Wallace was upset and flipped Bowman off several times. However, Bowman bumped Wallace again and sent him into the wall.

"[Bowman] don't like to race. He just runs over everybody. He gets to Lap 1 and he runs over me and the 3 (Austin Dillon) into the back chicane. We're back there in the trunk, man. Just take it easy for a lap. He had a fast car and he just run over us. Shoot us through the chicane and then we get a penalty for it. Every time he gets to me, he just runs over me," Bubba Wallace said (via NASCAR.com).

Bowman finished second and moved to the next round, while Wallace finished 24th. After the race, Wallace confronted him in the pitlane and threw water at him.
