There is hardly a motorsport fan who hasn't tried their hand at racing games. The US market is undoubtedly one of the hottest markets for gamers, and on top of that, NASCAR is America's favorite form of motorsport. Therefore, the aficionados in the US and outside of it can have numerous NASCAR games to choose from.

With an eclectic band to choose from, it's hard to pick out a clear winner since different games have different user experiences. However, we have compiled five NASCAR games that can be regarded as the best of all time.

5. NASCAR Heat 5

At number 5, we have NASCAR Heat 5, which is based on the 2020 NASCAR season and was launched on July 10, 2020. The game was developed by 704 Games and published by Motorsport Games.

The game came with PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One platforms and offered single and Multiple-player modes. The gameplay largely remained similar to its predecessor, NASCAR Series 4. According to Metacritic, NASCAR Heat 5 received a rating of 59 out of 100.

4. Gran Turismo 5

At number 4, we have Gran Turismo 5, which is the only game on this list that is not solely a NASCAR-based game. Although it does not feature NASCAR to its largest capacity, it still offers fistful tracks and vehicles.

The game was developed by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. GT5 was released on November 24, 2010, and was available to play on the Playstation 3 platform. In Metacritic, the game received a rating of 84 out of 100.

3. NASCAR Racing 4

NASCAR Racing was released back in 2001, and despite that, it made it to the top three of this list. The game was developed by Papyrus Design Group and published by Sierra On-Line.

NASCAR Racing 4 came with both single and Multiple-player modes and had Microsoft Windows as its platform. In Metacritic, the game received a humongous response, with 89 out of 100 ratings.

2. NASCAR Thunder 2004

In the runner-up position, we have NASCAR Thunder 2004. NASCAR Thunder 2004 was released in 2003 and had multiple developers for different platforms. Image Space developed the game for Windows, while EA Tiburon did it for PlayStation 2, and Xbox and Budcat Creations developed it for PlayStation.

This game also comes with two modes, namely single and multiplayer modes. The game received an overwhelming response from the gaming community. According to Metacritic, the PS2 players rated the game 88 out of 100, while the PC gamers rated it 78 out of 100.

1. NASCAR Racing 2003 Season

Finally, at the number 1 position, we have NASCAR Racing 2003 Season. This game was introduced to gamers in 2003 and was one of the first NASCAR simulator games of this genre. It was developed by Papyrus Design Group and published by Sierra Entertainment.

The game's platform was Windows and Mac OS X and had both single and Multiple-player modes. Following this game's release, Electronic Arts acquired the exclusive NASCAR rights. The game received numerous brilliant reviews and, according to Metacritic; the rating is 89 out of 100.
