The NASCAR Cup Series in 2024 has been fascinating, to say the least. Especially for the drivers who were experiencing a winless streak. So far, 12 different drivers have managed to claim at least one victory this year, and six of them won after a long drought.
Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell, and William Byron have registered three wins each. Meanwhile, Brad Keselowski, Austin Cindric, Alex Bowman, Daniel Suarez, Joey Logano and Chase Elliott's sole win meant they scrapped their 40+ winless streak in 2024.
How did the aforementioned drivers break their long winless streak?
#1 Brad Keselowski
Brad Keselowski is the driver who had the longest winless streak. He had 110 winless runs in the NASCAR Cup Series after not winning a race following the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway in April 2021.
Coming into 2024, he claimed the Goodyear 400 win at Darlington Raceway to finally put an end to the streak. With this, Keselowski took his NASCAR Cup Series win number to 36.
#2 Austin Cindric
Austin Cindric comes in at number two on the list of winless streaks. Before his recent victory, he took part in 85 races without winning any. The Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway in February 2022 was his last Cup Series win.
Fast forward to 2024, Cindric won the Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway, after Ryan Blaney ran out of gas. With this, he finally smashed his winless streak.
#3 Alex Bowman
Alex Bowman comes third as he won a race after 80 winless runs in the NASCAR Cup Series. Bowman won the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Speedway in March 2022, and he remained winless until Chicago 2024.
Bowman clinched the Grant Park 165 at the Chicago Street Course in July and took his NASCAR Cup Series win tally to eight.
#4 Daniel Suarez
Daniel Suarez is in fourth place after he claimed a victory following a 57-race winless streak. Interestingly, Suarez has only two Cup Series wins to his name, and his first arrived at Toyota 300 in 2022.
He won the Atlanta Motor Speedway race this year to break his winless streak.
#5 Joey Logano
At number five, we have Joey Logano. Until his recent win, Logano had undergone a 42-race winless streak. He won the Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2023 and failed to win another race until Nashville this season.
Logano claimed the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway in June 2024 and took his NASCAR Cup Series race wins to 33.
#6 Chase Elliott
Chase Elliott is the sixth driver on the list; he had a 42-race winless streak. He won the Yellawood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway in October 2022 and remained winless until the recent Texas Race.
Elliott won the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 race at Texas Motor Speedway in April this year. With this, he not only took his win number to 19 but also broke his rather lengthy winless streak.
