Alexander Michael Warren Bowman, also known as “Bowman the Showman”, is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner who competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 48 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Hendrick Motorsports. Bowman is also a part-time driver in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 17 Chevrolet Camaro for the same team. Bowman owns a Dirt Midget and Sprint car racing team named Alex Bowman Racing.

Bowman started racing on short tracks at seven in Arizona and California in 2000. He drove the quarter midget cars in the United States Auto Club competition. By 2006, Bowman had won nine national championships and boasted 165 wins. He debuted in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2014 after he tested for BK Racing for the 2014 Daytona 500. In 2016, Bowman returned to the Cup Series, driving the No. 88 for Hendrick Motorsports as an interim driver for Dale Earnhardt. Jr. In 2018, Bowman replaced Dale Earnhardt Jr. and started the season by winning the pole for the 2018 Daytona 500. Bowman has won eight Cup Series races and secured 91 top-10 finishes and four poles. Out of these four poles, Bowman secured three poles at the 2018, 2021, and 2023 Daytona.
